Six more people, including a former sheriff's office employee, were indicted as part of an ongoing investigation into drug smuggling at a downtown Nashville jail. With this third round of indictments stemming from the smuggling investigation at Nashville jails, a total of 14 people have been charged.

The investigation showed that 26-year-old Imani Birdine, who was a Sheriff’s Office employee working at the Downtown Detention Center, was reportedly transporting drugs into the jail. Inmates Carlos Robins, also known as Carlos Ewin, 47, and Demetrice Holmes, 22 were found to be part of the conspiracy.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said this is the third round of indictments in the overall investigation.
